Nature through its highlights, Theo Arbez gives a look into heavy contrast, a black and white photographic series of mountain ranges during a road trip through Europe.
About the Series:
These images were taken during a road trip through Europe in the summer of 2017. Like most mountain ranges of this scale, the Swiss Alps have the ability intimidate and inspire at the same time. This sublimity is perhaps what drew hundreds of painters to attempt to capture its grandeur. A similar effect can be experienced when visiting cities like New York or Florence, one for its sheer scale
and the latter for being present amongst some of the very best of Western architecture and the birthplace of the Renaissance. Theo can only hope that he has replicated feelings like this in these photographs.
About the Artist:
Theo Arbez is a student studying political science at U of T and have been taking photos for 5 years now. He tends to focus on black-white with a further emphasis on texture and contrast between highlights and shadows.
